TOLL ATTENDANTS COLLECT 'THANK YOU'S' FOR FRIENDLY
CUSTOMER SERVICE
IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2002) - Six toll attendants
were honored today for making a trip on The Toll Roads more pleasant
for more than 100,000 cash-paying customers that use the toll-road
system every day.
The Boards of Directors of the Transportation Corridor Agencies,
the government entities that operate Orange County's 51-mile public
toll-road system, commended the toll attendants for their friendliness,
positive attitudes, and helpfulness when serving toll-road customers.
"Our toll attendants make our roads the friendliest toll roads
around and we appreciate their efforts," said Linda Lindholm, chairwoman
of the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency Board of
Directors, which oversees the 73 Toll Road.
"About 45 percent of our customers pay cash on The Toll Roads
which makes our toll attendants a critical part of our mission to
offer excellent customer service to all toll-road patrons," said
Scott Diehl, chairman of the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor
Agency Board of Directors, which oversees the 241, 261 and 133 Toll
Roads.
The toll attendants that were honored are:
- Judy Faulkner of Rancho Santa Margarita
- Joe Morreale of Lake Forest
- Kathy Balmanno of Laguna Niguel
- Pamela Conley of Mission Viejo
- Kamiesha Turner of Corona
- Lisa Gable of Norco
Kamiesha Turner, a toll attendant on the Eastern (241/261/133)
Toll Roads, said the best part of her job is making a difference
in someone's day. "It's great to make someone smile or laugh who
is obviously upset." Toll attendants collect an average of 300 tolls
per hour, or 54,000 tolls per day on the 73, 241, 261 and 133 Toll
Roads. About 45 percent of all tolls collected are paid with cash.
The six toll attendants were nominated for various awards by their
supervisors and selected by PRWT Services, Inc. as part of the company's
annual Employee Appreciation Day in August. PRWT Services Inc.,
which has provided toll attendant staffing services for TCA since
1994, employs 104 toll attendants and management personnel that
